Short-lived Radionuclides in the Milky Way Galaxy

چکیده
The short-lived radionuclides (SLRs) have a half-life ≤ 100 Myr. γ-ray observations and excess abundance of their daughter nuclides in various meteoritic phases confirm the existence SLRs Galaxy early solar system (ESS), respectively. In this work, we developed Galactic Chemical Evolution (GCE) models for SLRs, 26 Al, 60 Fe along with 36 Cl, 41 Ca, 53 Mn. These predict temporal spatial evolution SLR trends from 2-18 kpc. two Fe, are investigated further, as available comparison model predictions. predictions per unit area each ring show decreases inner to outer regions Galaxy. Black holes in the milky way galaxy.
Extremely strong observational evidence has recently been found for the presence of black holes orbiting a few relatively normal stars in our Milky Way Galaxy and also at the centers of some galaxies. The former generally have masses of 4-16 times the mass of the sun, whereas the latter are "supermassive black holes" with millions to billions of solar masses. The evidence for a supermassive bla...
متن کاملGalaxy Formation: Clues from the Milky Way
Stellar Populations are the fossil record of Galactic evolution. Interpretation of this record in the Local Group allows one to determine reliably the dominant physics controlling the evolution of those galaxies which are typical of the luminosity in the Universe, and is an essential prerequisite to understanding necessarily limited data at high redshifts. In our Galaxy, the key issues are the ...
متن کاملChemodynamical Simulations of the Milky Way Galaxy
We present chemodynamical simulations of a Milky Way-type galaxy using a selfconsistent hydrodynamical code that includes supernova feedback and chemical enrichment, and predict the spatial distribution of elements from Oxygen to Zinc. In the simulated galaxy, the kinematical and chemical properties of the bulge, disk, and halo are consistent with the observations. The bulge formed from the ass...
متن کاملThe Distribution of Dark Matter in the Milky Way Galaxy
A wealth of recent observational studies shows the dark matter in the Milky Way to have the following fundamental properties: 1) there is no detectable dark matter associated with the Galactic disk – the dark matter is distributed in a purely halo distribution with local volume density near the Earth ≈ 0.3GeV/cc ≡ 0.01M⊙pc; 2) The stellar mass function is both universal and convergent at low ma...
متن کاملThe Evolution of Isotope Ratios in the Milky Way Galaxy
Isotope ratios have opened a new window into the study of the details of stellar evolution, supernovae, and galactic chemical evolution. We present the evolution of the isotope ratios of elemental abundances (from C to Zn) in the solar neighbourhood, bulge, halo, and thick disk, using chemical evolution models with updated yields of Asymptotic Giant Branch (AGB) stars and core-collapse supernov...
